Wincon

Alright, so I totally need to get the hell off lj and shower for this party I'm supposed to be going to in less than an hour. Instead, I'm sitting here debating with myself:

The other day, I got super curious about this little thing called Wincon, and I checked out the website. And I started thinking, "It's in Chicago, which aside from being pretty close to me, is also my favorite city in the United States, so . . . bonus. Also, people who are actually into the same thing I'm into, hanging out and talking about it in RL? Could be a good time. Tickets, not that expensive. Seems like something that might be fun."

The same day, I get an e-mail from taintedlove saying that I have to come to Wincon this year. Seriously? The same fucking day?

God? Are you talking to me again? In the form of a spastic college co-ed? You know how it weirds me out when you do that! (Because, for real, it happens all the time. I swear.)

So I'm wondering - who's going to Wincon? Should I take the plunge? The thought of meeting people face-to-face is exciting, and a little strange, at the same time. Is it worth it? Have you been to this one, or other Cons, and had a really awesome time? Or a really terrible one and should be warning me to turn back and never speak or think of this again?
