So I haven't had much to say, or post, lately. A few oners here and there, but I've been mostly keeping to myself. Well, keeping to myself and bugging the hell out of a few of you. This is because I've been on a roll with my Big Bang story. Yeah, the one I was freaking out about less than a month ago.
I was totally prepared to put it on the back burner and forget about it until, like, April. Ready to freak the fuck out, quite frankly, when the deadline was approaching and I was nowhere near done. I am absolutely terrible with deadlines. My
pictures2words entry? I didn't even start on until two days before it was due. Procrastination is usually my middle name.
So mark your calendars because this? This is a shocking day, more than likely never to be seen again. Today, February 1st, I finished the first draft of my Big motherfuckin' Bang. It's about 500 words shy of 30K and I think it's pretty good. I love this incarnation of the boys a lot, and
taintedlove and
ldyghstwhisprer have both assembled the most kick-ass soundtracks for my inspiration.
Of course, now I have three months to sit on this thing and not say anything about it. Also, to freak out and decide that it's all bull shit and I should just start over with a new concept - so don't celebrate for me yet. I may still be pulling my hair out and cursing this deadline by April. ;)
As of now, though, I'm walking on air. I know y'all don't know how big this is for me, but I suck at commitment and deadlines and boundaries. I feel like this is a pretty big accomplishment for me.
Now I can start working on some stuff that can actually be posted in the meantime. Next up, for those of you who might be wondering, is a Disclaimer OneShot, and then possibly another Creative Control timestamp. And I think I'm going to start cultivating an old idea for a chapter story dealing with some overtly religious themes.
For now, I'm going to take a nap. I kinda feel like I earned it.
