This Thing They Call Big Bang

A few people already know that last year's Big Bang is what hooked me into this fandom in the first place. I remember thinking it was an awesome challenge, but that there were too many rules for someone with my track record of missing deadlines and flaking under pressure.

Cut to January, when I got this insane notion that I should actually give this year's challenge a shot. So I signed up, got to writing, and actually finished. The problem I didn't foresee was having to sit on the story, and the concept, until summer. Keeping my mouth shut about this one has been INSANELY hard!

Even more impossible? Shutting up for the days between the artist claims, and the reveal. But now that the cat's out of the bag, I can tell you guys two things:

1.) The story is called Coda, and the summary is as follows:
Jensen runs a music website based out of Chicago, with a focus on indie bands looking for their big break. Jared works for a national music magazine based out of New York, and occasionally lends his face and opinion to VH1 compilation shows (think Best Week Ever, I Love the 90's, etc.) Jensen accidentally outing himself on his website serves as a catalyst for repairing their relationship, which fell apart back in college.

2.) My artist is . . . wait for it . . . the amazingly talented maichan808! Are you kidding me? Do y'all even know what a BLESSING this is? I am so excited - we've already kicked some ideas around, and I think the end results will blow your freakin' minds.

I'm in the process of re-writing some things right now, and the posting schedule is supposed to be up some time this week. There are a bunch of stories I can't wait to read! This summer is going to rock so hard!!!

When the artists claims was, I kept thinking, why did I sign up as an author, because now I really wanted to do art, and the Coda would have been something that I wanted to claim :)
Anyway, my artist seen nice, I don't know much about her yet, but she did story last year.
I'm doing some rewriting too, when I started, it was around 21k now it's over 25k and not even close to ready yet. *sigh*

I think my rough draft was somewhere around 28K, and now, it's up to about 32K - by the time I'm finished, I expect it to be sliding down the hill toward 40K.

What have I done?

It's exciting, though - seeing everyone's ideas and watching the excitement grow. I'm anxious to see what you have in mind for yours!

For me, as a reader, the hardest part of BB is this waiting period between posting all of the summaries and the start of posting fics.
