Prompts Anyone?

Alright, guys. It's been a couple of months since I did one of these, but my muses are on life support or something right now. My writer's block is insane - made of brick and reinforced by steel or something - and I'm hoping that this will help.

So here's the deal: The only rule is that the fic you request will be 1000 words or less, so nothing so big that it can't be contained. No other rules or restrictions. As vague or specific as you want, and I will start working on them immediately.

“Jay, it's amazing,” she smiles, genuine and kind as she inspects the work he's done. “Thank you.”

Taking the compliment in stride, Jared nods and makes his way to Jensen. If he kisses him a little harder, longer, and deeper than normal, that's just because he's happy to see him. He's absolutely not staking his claim or anything.

She shakes Jared's hand first and then turns an electrifying smile to Jensen. For the first forty minutes that she was in his chair, he didn't even really notice the fact that she was a woman. She didn't giggle and flutter her eyelashes or anything, not like some of the girls who plunk down in his chair, anyway. But with Jensen, she's coy and cute and charming and adorable. It's not overt, and he doesn't get the impression that she's trying to impress him or anything. It's annoying anyway, though.

It occurs to him, though, that Jensen might actually want this. Just because they haven't talked about it in awhile doesn't mean that he hasn't been thinking about it. Jared doesn't like it, but he's not one to go back on his word, either. He's always been pretty powerless at saying no to anything this guy wants.

“So, I was thinkin', maybe if you guys aren't busy tonight, we could get some dinner. Head back to my place.”

Before Jensen can answer, Jared says, “I've got plans, but you should go,” nudging him with a shoulder.

Long seconds pass, the two of them carrying on an entire conversation without ever opening their mouths. Finally, Jensen blinks and turns. “Dinner sounds great, but I'm gonna have to take a rain check.”

She doesn't argue, just hugs them both before leaving with a promise to return if she needs any more art.

When she's gone, Jared looks over at Jensen again. “There went your chance, man,” he smirks, hoping to hell that it covers the way his heart is thundering in his chest. He left the decision up to Jensen, but he honestly doesn't know what he would have done if Jensen had gone through with it.

“Wanted to,” Jensen admits, smile bright when he meets Jared's eye. “Just. Not enough.”

Jared kisses him again, quick and dirty, and looks up when the bell over the front door dings. “I gotta get back to work. You gonna head out?”

Though he seems to consider it for a minute, Jensen just hops back up onto the counter and crosses his arms over his chest. “Nah. Gonna stick around and remind myself why I'm not bangin' a rock star tonight.”
