Lots of New Projects
Aug. 1st, 2010 01:38 pmSo I have decided that I need to start expanding my boundaries a little bit. In addition to writing for
spn_30snapshots and
schmoop_bingo, I have signed up to write for
spn_reversebang.
I have decided that it's time to write outside of my comfort zone. This started a few weeks ago when my BFF, Erin, asked me why I never write femmeslash. (She didn't call it that because she doesn't speak in fandom terms, but the sentiment was the same.) I realized I really don't have an answer beyond, "I never have, so I'm not comfortable with it." That's kind of a stupid excuse not to challenge myself, I think.
So I decided to sign up for a couple more challenges. I've chosen ones with staggered posting schedules, so as long as my muse cooperates, I should be able to get them all done. If I hit a wall on these, I'm issuing fair warning to
taintedlove and
kathickers that Wincon is going to become 'Help Rae Work Through Her Femmeslash Plot Issues' Con. :D
Anyway, here are the new entrees to the ever-growing pile on my plate:

I think that's everything for now. I know that these newest challenges won't appeal to everyone on my flist, but I'm excited for the opportunity to try something new and see what happens.
OH, and I wanted to thank everyone who's following Conversations in a Coffee Shop and leaving such enthusiastic and supportive feedback. I think I lost a little bit of the 'fun' in writing for awhile and I let it stress me out more than I should have. You guys are helping me remember what it's like to create something just because I like doing it. Now, I'm off to respond to comments and then start working on the next installment, or to take a nap. Whichever comes first. ;)
