Disclaimer Comment Fic

Okay, so I'm about to get ready to head to work, but I wanted to let you all know that the next installment in the Disclaimer Verse is coming. I'll post it on Monday, and I'm saving it for reasons you will find out on that day.

In the meantime, I'm itching to write something short and sweet . . . Last time I offered up comment fic, it wasn't that specific, but this time, I really wanna write some short Disclaimer. Conversations, snippets, nothing over 1,000 words. I'm going to try to keep them to 500. So don't prompt me with something epic, but if there's a short little something you'd like to see, let me know and I'll try to get it up in the next forty-eight to seventy-two hours, depending on the demand.

I don't put time limits on most of these posts, but this one will close on Sunday, April 11.

OH, and just so you know, it doesn't have to be J2. I'll write anyone in the Disclaimer Verse.

ETA: As much fun as this has been (and it really has been awesome!), this meme is now closed. Mike crosses the room and disappears into the back again. He's only gone for a second, and when he re-emerges, he's holding a board in each hand. “Come on, man. There's a spot toward the back bowl that's pretty well-preserved. We'll work out the details there.”

If he's honest, there was never much of a decision for Jensen to make here. He kind of knew he was going to buy the place the second he walked in.

But he can tell that Mike just gets it. This might mean something entirely different to him than it does to Jensen, but it doesn't matter. It means something. And that's enough for him to believe that this place, and this dream, will someday be a really fucking awesome reality.

They skate for nearly an hour, and when they finish, Jensen shakes Mike's hand and the deal's all but sealed. “Dude, I got a good feeling about this,” he nods, taking a minute to look over the park, with the ocean in the background and the tourists milling about.

Mike claps a hand on his shoulder and laughs. “My grandfather always said this was a place where dreams become reality. Where the only limitations are inside your own head. Long as you got a board under your feet and a spot to land, you can touch the sky from the top of that pipe, man.”

It's cheesy as all hell, and if Jared or Chris was here with him right now, Jensen would laugh. But Mike's words hit him hard, and he blinks for a second at the thought of it. Some day Ollie's going to be that place again. He's going to make it happen.

And if Mike wants to stick around and help him out, Jensen's okay with that, too.

You're so welcome - I'm really glad you liked it.

I may still try to go back and catch your TJ request once I've filled some of these other ones, but for the time being, I chose the one lept out at me. I kind of love the Jensen/Mike friendship in this 'verse, so it was fun.

Thank you for the opportunity to go back in time a little bit - it was fun.

I was wondering a little whether that Origins fic would be the Monday surprise. Now I am glad it's not, because that means even more fic. On top of a promise for Origins! Soooo cool. ;)

I love the image of Jensen seeing this rundown place and imagining what it's going to become.

We're in the process of househunting around these parts and I've definitely had that feeling before.

Good luck on your search! I, for the record, am terrible at that kind of visualization. At least, for rooms in a house. I can lay out a story and see it perfectly in my head, but colors and furniture in a room, no so much.
