Welcome to My New Friends!

This is the post where I say WELCOME to my new friends. If you've lurked around here for any amount of time, you might find it hard to believe that I am a little shy when it comes to friending new people, but I have a hard time reaching out like that. I am really glad that y'all don't (or that you do a better job of getting over it than I do!).

I'm not all that comfortable talking about myself, but I thought I'd throw a couple of quick facts out as an introduction.

* I'm (almost) 31, a librarian, and live in Indiana.

* SPN is my only fandom at the moment, but I'm crazy into watching White collar (Matt Bomer owns my soul!) and Psych. Those are my summer happy places. For those to whom it matters, in regards to the show, I'm about as bi-bro as a girl can possibly get. I started out as a total Dean girl, but that has shifted and changed over time. Now I couldn't pick a brother if you paid me in cash and/or sexual favors.

* At this point, you'll only find RPF on my journal. Writing SPN fic intimidates me, quite frankly. I've been signing up for more exchanges and challenges lately, trying to expand my horizons and stretch my comfort zone a little bit. It's ridiculously easy for me to fall into a rut, to write what comes easy, but I am doing my damnedest to break out of that and tap into new creativity.

* I'm a music whore - I'll listen to just about anything. In the last week, I've been rocking out to The White Stripes, car-dancing to Lady Gaga, and mellowing out to Jeremy Camp.

* My faith is incredibly important to me, but you won't find much talk of it here. Everyone has their own thoughts and beliefs; I respect that.

* There is nothing in the world more fascinating/frustrating/precious to me than my family. I have one younger brother and one younger sister. My nieces and nephews - I have two of each - are everything to me.

* I've never really stated this explicitly, but concrit is always welcome here. Anonymously or otherwise, as long as you're respectful about it, I am open to anything that helps me grow as a writer. Along the same lines, any questions about characterization, plot, or stylistic choices are encouraged. I am happy to discuss anything with anyone. You can always e-mail me at raeschae @ gmail, too.

I think that's the basics, but if you have any other questions (whether you're a new friend or have been around for awhile), feel free to ask here! I'll answer anything.

So I'm going to sound like a total dork, but what is interior outfitting? I should probably know, but it doesn't sound familiar to me.

I totally get what you're saying about your nephew. I love all of my nieces and nephews, but my two-year-old niece just rocks out loud. Of course, she's the only one old enough to walk and talk yet, so that might up her entertainment value just a little bit. ;)

I love Bones! I'm anxious to see what they do with the new season after the way they left everything last year.

And don't worry about the commenting. As long as you're enjoying it, that's enough for me. I am the worst person in the world when it comes to commenting because I'm terrified that the writer is going to think I'm annoying or something. I know it doesn't make sense because I LOVE getting comments. I don't claim to be rational!

Just remember, you asked for it ;) So here comes the explanation. We don't build buildings as our main business, we start when the building is finished like it stands, has windows, doors, stairs, preferably a lift, air conditioning, heating, that kinda thing. The company I work for produces access floors (that's where I am working in the export dept. It's floor panels put on steel pedestals to create a hollow space to put all the cables, piping and whatnot in), suspended ceilings and partition walls. Plus a whole lot more like doors, glass facades for the outside of the building and all that. We basically do everything to make the mostly office building inhabitable for when the furniture comes and people move in. It's not for residential though. OMG...that sounds like my speech from work today for our new trainee *headdesk* Anyway, if you don't know that, don't worry, but you've probably seen all the above in some kinda building.

I love my nephew although sometimes I could just strangle him because he turns in this spoiled brat with no manners. And I know he can behave but sometimes he turns into this evil child that wants to be stubborn and screams and cries until he gets his will. But still, he is so cool, especially now that he can talk in full sentences and throws words around when I think WTH have you got that one from? It's incredible how fast they transform from a tiny (okay, in his case not so tiny) baby into a fully functional little human being with their own character. It always amazes me. And on Saturday I fly to my best friend who now lives up North in the US to see my second favorite 2 1/2 year old. He son is even cooler than my nephew LOL

I love Bones too and I can't wait to see how Bones will continue after both heading off to different places in the world. It's probably a year later then.

Well, I always feel bad when I read a story and don't comment. It's just, I don't always wanna write the same inane thing over and over again and rather write a bit more. But most of the time I don't find the words or I am just having a big vacuum in my head. I know that the writers are happy with any comment, I just feel bad to always write "great story. loved it." and nothing else. I am strange, I know.

And don't worry about not being rational. It makes you who you are and I am so okay with that LOL

Huh. I guess I didn't realize that someone did that outside of general contracting. Fascinating!

I'm so afraid that the ending of Bones last season was an excuse to wipe the slate clean and ruin everything that they've been steamrolling toward for the last five seasons. :( I know it will destroy the tension of the show, but I want some Booth/Brennan, dammit!

Yeah well, it's a job and it pays ;)

I honestly don't know what to expect but them leaving at the end was kinda unexpected, at least for me, and I guess that they're gonna use that for putting the whole show in a new direction or something. I guess we'll see. And I am so with you Booth/Brennan thing. They should just get it over with!!!!
