This is the post where I say WELCOME to my new friends. If you've lurked around here for any amount of time, you might find it hard to believe that I am a little shy when it comes to friending new people, but I have a hard time reaching out like that. I am really glad that y'all don't (or that you do a better job of getting over it than I do!).

I'm not all that comfortable talking about myself, but I thought I'd throw a couple of quick facts out as an introduction.



* I'm (almost) 31, a librarian, and live in Indiana.

* SPN is my only fandom at the moment, but I'm crazy into watching White collar (Matt Bomer owns my soul!) and Psych. Those are my summer happy places. For those to whom it matters, in regards to the show, I'm about as bi-bro as a girl can possibly get. I started out as a total Dean girl, but that has shifted and changed over time. Now I couldn't pick a brother if you paid me in cash and/or sexual favors.

* At this point, you'll only find RPF on my journal. Writing SPN fic intimidates me, quite frankly. I've been signing up for more exchanges and challenges lately, trying to expand my horizons and stretch my comfort zone a little bit. It's ridiculously easy for me to fall into a rut, to write what comes easy, but I am doing my damnedest to break out of that and tap into new creativity.

* I'm a music whore - I'll listen to just about anything. In the last week, I've been rocking out to The White Stripes, car-dancing to Lady Gaga, and mellowing out to Jeremy Camp.

* My faith is incredibly important to me, but you won't find much talk of it here. Everyone has their own thoughts and beliefs; I respect that.

* There is nothing in the world more fascinating/frustrating/precious to me than my family. I have one younger brother and one younger sister. My nieces and nephews - I have two of each - are everything to me.

* I've never really stated this explicitly, but concrit is always welcome here. Anonymously or otherwise, as long as you're respectful about it, I am open to anything that helps me grow as a writer. Along the same lines, any questions about characterization, plot, or stylistic choices are encouraged. I am happy to discuss anything with anyone. You can always e-mail me at raeschae @ gmail, too.

I think that's the basics, but if you have any other questions (whether you're a new friend or have been around for awhile), feel free to ask here! I'll answer anything.

I never know how to introduce myself, but I'm gonna give it a try.

I'm 22 (almost 23) and I'm in the IT industry. And I live in India.

I watch Supernatural, Criminal Minda and Glee, but I lurk only in this fandom. I'm a Dean girl but I adore Sam too. I love Jensen (in a non-creepy way which is more of an admiration).

I love reading and listening to music. I love this fandom, despite its faults and this fandom has some really talented writers and artists, who deserve all the love they get.

I adore babies and kids, but holding babies scare me. They are so delicate. And also puppies, they are just too cute.

Man, holding babies scares me, too! My nephews were so little when they were born and it took me FOREVER to be able to hold them. I was so scared I was going to break one of them!!

The babies are growing on me. With my sister-in-law having twins and my best friend and then my sister having incredibly small babies - all in the last few months - I'm starting to learn. And you're absolutely right - that baby smell is kind of perfection!

Thank you! They are both doing well today - my sister's pretty doped up and has spent most of the day passed out, but they're doing alright. Brooklyn is in the NICU, but she's healthy and doing great!

love SPN, write both RPS & Sam/Dean at the moment, actually surprisingly find SPN Sam/Dean easier than RPS believe it or not!

Cake decorating fascinates me! I can watch it on the Food Network for hours.

I haven't actually tried to write any SPN in a long time, but when I first got into fandom, I hated EVERYTHING Sam and Dean that I wrote, so I just stopped. Maybe I'll pick it up again someday. :D

I love love love White Collar. My dad actually got me hooked on it. The actors' chemistry is fantastic and Matt Bomer is just SO charming. Give it a shot - I think you'll like it. Leverage is another one of my summer favorites!

I still feel like "new". I've soon spent 4 months writing in this fandom, another month or two just commenting but yeah.. compared to all people that have been here for years? I feel so new...

I tend to lean towards Dean. Like...a lot. I like Sam, I really do..but Dean owns my heart and my soul. Or maybe Jensen does...the line is fuzzy. Plus there was this thing with b_dodger where I might have signed with blood on the dotted line and she owns my soul...but let's not go into that.

It's strange, I started out with Wincest, and RPS freaked me out, it just felt wrong to read/write about real people. *cough* Then I read Homework 'verse and yeah...I might have changed my mind. You know, just a little. I still read Sam/Dean but mostly it's J2 and RPS is the only thing I write...I don't dare to touch Dean, too scared of not doing him justice.

Also, when I start babbling like this.. I can go on forever so..yeah. SHutting up now.

I was the same way with Wincest vs. RPS back in the day. Actually, I was that way with Wincest at first, too. The more I read, the more it didn't seem so creepy. I guess I desensitized myself - which may or may not be a good thing. ;)

I know what you mean, though - with J2, I can play AU and not worry about making them 'true to life.' With Sam and Dean, I'm just kind of scared of writing them completely out of character!

So this introduction is highly appreciated :D So I might as well return the favor because I haven't got anything like that on my LJ.

I am 35 and live in Germany. Divorced, no kids. Work in the construction business, well more or less, it's interior outfitting only. I have 2 younger step-sisters and 1 nephew who is 2 1/2 and he is one of the coolest kids I know. My only fandom is Supernatural, but I love other shows too like Eureka, lately Haven, Bones, etc. And I so love your writing although I am bad with commenting on it *hides*

I totally get what you're saying about your nephew. I love all of my nieces and nephews, but my two-year-old niece just rocks out loud. Of course, she's the only one old enough to walk and talk yet, so that might up her entertainment value just a little bit. ;)

I love Bones! I'm anxious to see what they do with the new season after the way they left everything last year.

And don't worry about the commenting. As long as you're enjoying it, that's enough for me. I am the worst person in the world when it comes to commenting because I'm terrified that the writer is going to think I'm annoying or something. I know it doesn't make sense because I LOVE getting comments. I don't claim to be rational!

Well, since I have been lurking around here, I guess I could say something too. :D Hi, I am Flora.

We are working in the same field and coincidence or not, I also have a younger brother and a younger sister.

Supernatural is also my only fandom, although I like other shows as well. It's just this one it's special, perhaps also because it made me meet other interesting people as well too. Unlike you though, I started like a fan of both bros and ended up a Dean girl. I think I understand his motivations and actions a little better than Sam's. That's not to say I don't love the big guy; I don't think it's possible not to love Sam as well. There's no Dean without Sam and there's no Sam without Dean. I think this is what made Supernatural so special in the first place: the interaction and deep bond that the brothers shared.

I am definitely a music whore too, and I loved every soundtrack that you have created for your fanfiction. (It seems we have similar taste in music). I shamefully admit that I might have howled on Lady Gaga too, but don't tell anyone. My family is very important too and sometimes they drive me crazy (they are a crazy bunch) but I can't imagine my life without them. :D

I discovered by accident the Disclaimer verse and started to read all your other works as well. Disclaimer is one of my four favourite verses, but Creative Control is pretty close to. A special place in my heart is for 'Coda' though. I kept trying to make an account on lj , but I'm a little technologically challenged (not to mention that English is my second language) and I keep postponing this task. Maybe I should be braver.

I have a small question (hopefully it wasn't asked before or you didn't mention it before; if so, point me in the right direction). What inspired in writing the first RPF fanfiction and from where the idea of the Disclaimer verse came?

I was starting to think that we might be the same person - maybe my personality split somewhere along the way or something - but then I started to notice the differences. ;)

The Gaga cannot be denied. I have tried, believe me, but she is too strong. Just too damn catchy!

I'm just glad you're enjoying the fic. I had an lj for about a year before I even figured out how to friend anyone, or what that even meant. I think I had something like 13 posts in that first year - of course, I wasn't reading lj fiction back then, either, so I didn't even know how to navigate it, much less use it. I totally understand the intimidation.

Questions are always welcome: When I started fumbling around in this fandom a couple of summers ago, I found Big Bang and YouTube con videos at about the same time. I think the videos contributed to my fascination of the guys as characters, and the Big Bang stories introduced me to the wacky world of AU.

As far as Disclaimer goes, the core story idea came from an episode of Leverage called "The Order 23 Job," where Eliot met this kid in the ER who was obviously being abused by his father. The rest of it was kind of a mash-up of a lot of other ideas. Like a fair few others I've been lurking here (with gradually increasing comments) since Disclaimer verse.

I'm 23, a newly (currently unemployed) teacher of Geography and I live in Kent, UK. I've not got any kids yet but would love some one day and I too have got a younger brother.

Obviously I'm a SPN fanatic as well as loving House, Dexter, Firefly, Queer as Folk, CSI, Glee, Leverage and various others. Though SPN has always held a special place because it ticks so many of my interest boxes. I started off as a Dean-girl but over time have really grown to adore both the boys for their attributes but I guess I'll always kinda lean towards Dean.

Though I can't play a note I adore music and can't stand silence. I'm also a book worm and enjoy baking which I've been developing as a skill lately. As the icon suggests (and our previous discussion) I love tattoos and currently have two; blue roses on my lower back and a cat on my foot. I want lots of quotes and images that are significant to me.

I am also a geek. But then again who isn't these days?

Tats. I probably should have addressed that, too! I have three currently, with plans to grab my fourth one very soon. Just as soon as I figure out what I'm getting. Like you, I want them to be significant, so I've been going back and forth for almost a year on what I want this one to say. I have angel wings on my back, a bracelet made out of a bible verse and some flowers on my left wrist, and a pink breast cancer ribbon inside my right wrist at the moment.

When I moved back to my hometown, I spent three months looking for a job and was days away from moving to St. Louis to live with my parents when the circulation librarian at our public library moved to Texas. Hi! I've been commenting for a short while now (and you probabley know by now that I absolutley adore your stories) and want to properly introduce myself as well.

I'm a 27 year old girl from Germany, a book seller by trade (yay for obsessions about authors and books and characters, oh my!), don't have kids, but a kid sister and have been a total fanfic whore since 2001. I started out with anime (you know Gundam Wing?) and worked myself up to CSI, House MD (gotta love House, he's so fabulously snarky) and finally, finally in 2007 I hit the Jackpot with Supernatural. Been a fan ever since, and it doesn't look as if this will stop any time soon (come ONNN, be 24th of Sept. already!). Personally, I want to cuddle Sam, love the Good Son, Bad Son dynamics. Sometimes he just gets so sad (not that Dean doesn't, mind, but he seems to always snap out of it, his worldview is bit firmer and stronger, I think), he just wants to do good, and can't.
Anyway. Jared just seems sad at times, too, despite the happy go lucky, no? Or maybe that's just me.
Yeah, so. That's the mutzel in a nutshell. Hope to read many more of your fantastic stories, I really like your style ^.^

Hello there, about to add you, having spent the afternoon swimming around in Coda and loving every second of it. Thanks for the intro post, here's a bit about me:

I'm old enough to know better, and young enough to still not care (we're actually pretty close in age). I live in DC, and am an archaeologist by trade.

Fellow music whore here, and I'll listen to just about anything and everything. Currently I've been reaching for The Dead Weather and Bob Dylan in equal doses.

SPN had me, lock, stock, and barrel from the day it premiered, and it's my only fandom. I write a bit, both SPN and J2, and like you, I'm about as bi-bro as they come. I read quite a bit more, and am continually blown away by the talent and pure generosity of this fandom. Sure, folks may call us crazy, but that's because they've not taken the time to really get to know most of us.

There's no way you can assemble as many people as take part in this fandom without throwing a few crazies into the mix, but the amount of talent and awesomeness totally balances it if you ask me.
