Writer's Block: More than words

I guess it's not a huge secret that I'm seriously inspired by music, especially when I write. And it's also no secret that the Jeff Buckley version of Hallelujah is my favorite song of all time. In his version, the line 'Love is not a victory march, it's a cold and it's a broken Hallelujah' is probably my favorite.
But the Leonard Cohen version has my favorite, favorite Hallelujah line of all time - actually, it's an entire verse:
I did my best, it wasn't much
I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch
I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you
And even though it all went wrong
I'll stand before the Lord of Song
With nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah
I've always loved the I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch line. And in a totally fandom-centric way, this verse plays in my head every time I watch the SPN S5 finale while Sam is about to fall, to throw Lucifer (and himself) into the pit, while Dean looks on all broken and destroyed.
