What Have I Done?

So here's the thing . . . I'm kind of impulsive sometimes. And sometimes I tell myself that there's a risk out there I should be taking, that it'll be good for me, so I leap . . . and then realize I forgot the parachute. Not literally, of course - I'm not a complete idiot.

Ugh . . . Last Monday, I thought 'I'm going to do art for Big Bang this year. I can handle that. It's on a deadline, but I can knock art out faster than a story, so what's the big?' I was happy with my plan . . . My plan and I were makin' out slow and lazy on the couch with no pressure to go any further.

And then this morning, I woke up with a story idea and the knowledge that today is Big Bang sign up . . . so what did I do? I signed up to write a fuckin' Big Bang! Of course I did. She who shies away from all community prompts and challenges due to a paralyzing deadline phobia decided to put herself on the biggest deadline of them all.

Because apparently my brain has fallen out of my ear and been crushed into tiny pieces by stampeding elephants. Er, or something. Whatever happened to it, I have clearly lost my mind. And will probably lose my hair and my sense of humor by June. I need a drink. Possibly some dirty, random sex with a stranger. And that big blanket my mom used to wrap around me when I was crying over a boy in high school.

vamphile has already assured me that I won't be blacklisted from ever posting to LJ again if I suck this up entirely. And ldyghstwhisprer is saving my ass by making me an inspirational fanmix for the story. Anybody else who wants to be a part of this, get your whips and pom poms ready. No, we're not making porn. At least, not right now. I'm going to need cheering and ass kicking . . . and possibly some hand-holding. And if anyone has one of those little brown sandwich bags they'd like to hold while I try to regulate my breathing, that'd be awesome.
