So, I woke up at 5:30 this morning with an upset stomach and starting watching The World Series of Poker on ESPN, as you do, until it was time to get ready for work. It was there that I heard this quote (I have no idea who to credit for this as I know nothing about the pro Poker circuit. I know he was wearing a hat. And sunglasses.): "Lady Luck hangs out with the guys who practice hard." So, uh, let that inspire you? I don't know, I just liked it. I was also sick, so take it for what it's worth, I guess.

So, I decided to pinch hit for the spn_fs_exchange and am currently putting the finishing touches on that fic, then I'm clear until j2_afterclass in January. Well, I have a hs_bingo card to play with but it's not due until May so I'm, ya know, procrastinating.

I ♥ you guys, but I suck at holiday cards and gifts. What I can do is comment fic. Here are the stipulations:

1.) Fic will be roughly 1000 words.
2.) No pairing is off-limits.
3.) You can request more than one prompt but I can only promise one fill per person, so make sure the fic you most want to see is prompted first.
4.) Prompts can be holiday-themed but they don't have to be, unless they come from the Disclaimer 'verse.

Hi

I would love to see a fic about Jordan (from Disclaimer) and his first boyfriend (I love that kid!) and him asking the Js for advice or Bray grilling the poor bf to see if he's good enough for his best friend. I'm not sure how to make this holiday themed..but if you feel like writing it that would be awesome!

They're decorating Ollie for the holidays – Danneel is spraying fake snow in the windows. Tom is assembling the tree. Mike says he's setting up the menorah, but he's basically just standing next to it and looking at it. Jensen is trying to untangle about a billion strands of lights – when shouting in the park outside disrupts their silent night.

Exchanging a worried glance, Jensen and Tom jog for the door. It's almost midnight and they closed up early for decorating so there shouldn't be anyone out here in the first place, let alone a couple of someones standing too close under the street lights, too close to trading blows.

“It's none of your goddamn business so just back the fuck off, man!”

“None of my business? He's a fucking douchebag asshole!”

Jordan balls his hand into a fist but Tom catches him before he can raise it. Jensen wraps Brayden up with both arms and gives Jordan a cheeky smile over his shoulder. “What's goin' on, fellas?”

“This fucker just threatened to punch a guy in the mouth for talkin' to me!” Jordan's voice raises but he's not exactly yelling anymore now that Tom is holding him back.

“He's an asshole, for fuck's sake,” is Brayden's only defense. Jensen can feel him struggling but he'll be damned if he's going to let this seventeen-year-old beanpole break his hold.

For a second, he's pretty sure Jordan is going to bust free. They've known him for as long as they've known Brayden and Jensen is pretty sure he's never seen the kid get upset, let alone angry. Right now, he's livid.

“The only asshole I see is you,” he seethes. “I watch you chase every brain dead pair of boobs in a bikini and I don't say a fucking word. One guy talks to me, one guy, and you fucking lose your shit. What the hell gives you the right to tell me who I can fuck around with? Who the fuck are you?”

“He's your best friend,” Tom says, as though the answer should be obvious.

“Man, get off me,” Jordan growls, jerking until Tom lets him go. He's not exactly calm, but Jensen's pretty sure he's not gonna try anything.

Loosening his grip on Brayden, Jensen looks between them while he tries to process what he's seeing. “Somebody wanna fill in the blanks?”

Brayden rolls his shoulders, eyes never leaving Jordan's face. Jordan stares back, making no attempt to speak.

Finally, after what feels like an eternity, tension pulled so tight Jensen's sure he'll choke on it, Brayden says, “Man, you know I don't give a shit if you fall in love and live happily ever after with some dude and your adopted babies.” He actually sounds like he means it, no venom in his words, his shoulders dropping in defeat. “That guy did not wanna date you.”

Jordan huffs. “Really? You're gonna pull that 'wait for the right one' shit with me? You?” Then he outright laughs.

“Dude, you're not like me!” Brayden's voice raises but he sidesteps Jensen and takes a deep breath before Jensen can hold him back. It's probably better because the words kind of hit Jensen hard in the chest; he's not sure he'd be much good for restraining Brayden right now anyway. “It means something to you. You're not just gonna get laid; you're gonna get attached.”

There's this squeezing feeling in Jensen's stomach, something he didn't really experience before Brayden came along, something that only shows up when Brayden exposes himself like this. He's laying his heart out, allowing Jordan a glimpse of his own insecurities. Jensen has this overwhelming urge to step in front of him, to protect him from whatever rejection Jordan has the power to dish out right now.

“Like you got attached to Demi?”

Maybe it's a low blow, maybe Jensen really wants to step in and tell Jordan to back the fuck off, but Brayden just nods and rakes his fingers through his hair. “Yeah, like that. It sucks like bad head with teeth. You can't blame me for wantin' to save you from that shit.”

The comparison makes Tom chuckle as he heads back toward the shop with a shake of his head.

Suddenly, it feels like a private moment here, one that Jensen isn't really a part of, doesn't have a right to stick around and watch. Scratching his fingers against the back of his neck, he asks, “Y'all gonna keep your fists to yourselves if I leave you alone?”

They both nod and he heads back inside.

Danneel is waiting when he pushes back through the door, comforting hand on his shoulder as she walks back toward the sales counter with him. “Everything okay?”

With a shrug, Jensen grabs another tangled strand of lights. “I think so? Fuck, I don't know.” He pulls his phone out of his pocket and dials quickly, holding his breath until Jared answers. “Hey, you still got those Lakers tickets?'

“Yeah, why?” Jared asks. Jensen can hear the blender in the background, pictures Jared standing in the kitchen, looking out the window while he makes a protein shake.

“Thought maybe we could take Bray and Jordan, make a weekend out of it.”

Jared doesn't ask questions, just confirms that he'll make it happen. “You comin' home some time tonight?”

Looking at the tangle of lights in his hands, he laughs. “I'm headin' out now.”

(as previously mentioned) i think jensen and jared feel like jordan is not only their kid as much as brayden is, but their little protégée as well. i love that they've taken him in and are taking care of him as much as they can. whether they like it or not, they're good role models for jordan.

I absolutely love it, thank you! it feels real. I really like Bray's reason for doing what he did, though it made my heart break for Bray a little..Im glad I know how that he finds Adrianne!
