So, I woke up at 5:30 this morning with an upset stomach and starting watching The World Series of Poker on ESPN, as you do, until it was time to get ready for work. It was there that I heard this quote (I have no idea who to credit for this as I know nothing about the pro Poker circuit. I know he was wearing a hat. And sunglasses.): "Lady Luck hangs out with the guys who practice hard." So, uh, let that inspire you? I don't know, I just liked it. I was also sick, so take it for what it's worth, I guess.

A giant THANK YOU to kiwiana for the Katie/Genevieve fic she wrote me in the spn_fs_exchange, Those Nights Belong to Us. If femslash is your thing, check it out!

So, I decided to pinch hit for the spn_fs_exchange and am currently putting the finishing touches on that fic, then I'm clear until j2_afterclass in January. Well, I have a hs_bingo card to play with but it's not due until May so I'm, ya know, procrastinating.

I ♥ you guys, but I suck at holiday cards and gifts. What I can do is comment fic. Here are the stipulations:

1.) Fic will be roughly 1000 words.
2.) No pairing is off-limits.
3.) You can request more than one prompt but I can only promise one fill per person, so make sure the fic you most want to see is prompted first.
4.) Prompts can be holiday-themed but they don't have to be, unless they come from the Disclaimer 'verse.

With a lazy smile, she lifts a leg to rest her foot against the wall, her thigh brushing Jared's. “Give him some credit, J. He's much more civilized than that.” Her cheeks are getting pinker, her breath puffing out against Jared's lips. “He's much more prone to shoot you from a safe, clean distance.”

“Thank you,” Jared fires back, eyes squeezing shut as she fights to control her own pounding heart. She's embarrassed to admit how many times she's thought about being this close. “So glad I can sacrifice my life for your crusade against your parents.”

Katie chuckles, soft and light against Jared's ear as she leans forward. “Can I tell you a secret?”

Heat floods through Jared's body, pooling low in her belly. She can't answer, can only lick her lips and give a hint of a nod.

“I only told them we were together so we could do this tonight without you freaking out.”

Before Jared can ask what she's talking about, Katie is angling her face and pressing her slick, glossy lips against Jared's, breath hot and shallow.

Tightening her fingers against Katie's hips, Jared tries to remember that they're in public and Katie is her best friend and they should not be making out. Then she slides her tongue between Jared's lips and whimpers; Jared can't remember her own name, let alone propriety.

“We should get outta here,” Katie whispers against Jared's mouth.

Creating as much distance as she can with Katie's hand still clutching the back of her neck, Jared clears her throat. “Yeah. I, uh, I have some new stuff on the DVR,” she suggests.

With a dirty chuckle, Katie pushes off the wall, pressing herself hard against Jared as she kisses her jaw. “So not what I meant.”

Jared swallows hard as she lets Katie lace their fingers together. This is not how she saw this night turning out, but she can't say that she minds the turn of events.

The fact that people are staring in shock as they practically run from the room is an unnecessary bonus, as far as Jared is concerned.
