raeschae: (Other - Lonely in Bedroom)

It's been awhile since I've done one of these and there is only so many YouTube videos I can watch between loads of laundry. So I feel like writing some short and sweet comment fic. Anything goes; just remember that it's only going to be 1K (give or take) so try not to prompt anything too epic. Since I'm going to be busy for the rest of the weekend, I can only promise to fill one prompt per person. Anything from any of my verses is fair game, too.

In the meantime, I'm going to re-read some WIPs and see if anything nudges my BB interest!

ETA: This post is now closed to prompts. I'm so sorry I've been so slow in filling these! Hopefully, I'll get to a finishing a good portion of them this week - my vacation starts Thursday, so if I don't get yours finished before then, definitely look for it over the weekend!

You are a terrible influence.

The machine in the corner beeps obnoxiously and, not for the first time, Jared stares soulfully out the large window on the east side of his hospital room. Dying of a rare and incurable disease means that he spends a lot of time in this room and others like it, wishing that he was frolicking in the summer sun with other young people his age. It's sometimes frightening, occasionally painful, but mostly just boring.

“I brought Twizzlers,” comes the announcement from the door.

Jared wistfully turns, sighing as the candy striper who volunteers on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, comes into the room with a bag of licorice in one hand and a giant Slushie that he grabbed at the 7-11 on the corner in the other. Misery and epic amounts of angst are clearly painted all over his inhumanly beautiful face.

“It's Thursday,” Jared says blankly. It's hard to muster many emotions these days, being as he's so busy dying of a rare and incurable disease.

Nodding, Jensen shuts the door behind him and slides a chair in front of it. He then pulls the blinds and curtains and, for a brief moment, Jared fears Jensen may be planning to smother him with a pillow and end his prolonged suffering.

Instead, Jensen turns, hands in his pockets and lips pursed in angsty concentration. “Jared, I've been thinking. I mean, bonding with you over Charmed has been the sole bright spot in my otherwise dark and miserable life, but the Power of 3 is not going to heal your rare and incurable disease.”

Jared is confused, mostly because Jensen is unbuckling his belt as he speaks and Jared thinks his rare and incurable disease may be causing him to hallucinate. “I don't understand.”

Pushing his pants to the floor, Jensen rests his hands on his waist and says, “I'm not a doctor. As you know, I'm nothing more than a lowly candy striper. But while I was searching for art and poetry to reflect my epic manpain on the internet, I stumbled onto a possible cure for your rare and incurable disease.”

“There is no cure,” Jared insists, sitting up straighter as Jensen hooks his thumbs into the waistband of his underwear.

Jensen smiles – as close to a smile as his angst allows – and makes his way to the bed. He's naked and Jared is overwhelmed. For a guy who's spent most of his life in hospitals, he's gotten more action than people would expect. It's just usually with people who are sickly and have diseases as rare and incurable as his own. Dark and tragically, inhumanly beautiful men like Jensen don't try to cure him with their penises.

They try it anyway because, well, Jensen is beautiful and Jared is dying anyway, so why not?

For three more weeks, Jared cries himself to sleep, pillow catching his tears of rare and incurable pain. Jensen still comes to watch Charmed and he still lets a single mantear fall when the sisters bond over whatever it is that sisters with magical powers bond over.

When Jared goes through another battery of tests to determine whether or not his disease is still rare and incurable, he expects it to be the same as every other test on every other day of every other year of his life.

It's not.

The doctors say they can't explain it, Jared's parents are calling it a miracle. Jared knows exactly what happened, but he doesn't tell his parents that it was Jensen's magnificent penis that healed his rare and incurable disease.

Jared is packing his duffel bag, preparing to go home, when Jensen knocks on the door. It's Wednesday so he's wearing his candy striper shirt – a red and white striped button-down – with a miserable expression on his inhumanly beautiful face. “You're leaving.”

“You healed me,” Jared grins brightly. “You could make millions with that thing,” he teases, nodding toward Jensen's pants.

The corner of a smile edges onto Jensen's lips, more happiness than Jared usually sees from him. “I wrote you a poem,” he says, pulling a folded square of paper from the pocket of his stark, white scrub pants.

It's a sad poem, riddle with misery and epic amounts of angst, and Jared realizes that he has the opportunity to repay Jensen for curing Jared of his rare and incurable disease. Raising his eyes from the paper to Jensen's inhumanly beautiful face, he says, “Come home with me. Your magnificent penis healed me of my rare and incurable disease and I would like to return the favor.”

Jensen sighs, heavy and tragic and epically angsty. “I won't lie, Jared, I had hoped that your irresistible ass would rid me of my misery and epic man-angst, just as my magnificent penis healed your rare and incurable disease. Alas, it was not meant to be.” He heaves another deep sigh in punctuation.

Undeterred, Jared hitches his bag over his shoulder and crosses to Jensen. “Well, then let's go see if my mouth is any more effective.”

“You could make millions with that thing,” he teases, nodding toward Jensen's pants.

You said a mouthful there, Jared (pun incredibly intended).

Oh this fic. I am still wiping tears of laughter from my eyes, and I just want to walk around adding "rare and incurable" to everything I say now.

You are made of (rare and incurable) win!

HAHAHAHAHAHA I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ACTUALLY WROTE IT! AND IT WAS WONDERFUL. The highlight, for me was, well. EVERYTHING. You win at life, and incurable diseases.

THIS FIC IS THE BEST THING THAT HAS EVER HAPPENED TO ME. I AM PROBABLY GOING TO DIE FROM LAUGHING SO HARD.

It's hard to muster many emotions these days, being as he's so busy dying of a rare and incurable disease. BHA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

No lie, the last line made me spit out my tea. This is epic and you are my favorite person in the world right now. Well, minus the tea thing. :)

This is a rare and beautiful thing, like an immaculate dove slowly descending to grace the horn of a precious unicorn. I cried - with happiness, of course.
